The original AMG V12s weren’t the beasts they are today . I remember always skipping-over the C12 for the 7.0L C12S (in Gran Turismo 3) or the 7.3L C12S (Gran Turismo 4).

In 2000 the top Corvette had 345HP. The Mustang GT 215 and the Cobra 320. Horsepower levels have risen a LOT!

When it only weighs 2600 lbs it doesn’t need a boatload of power to cart itself around.

Absolutely. But it will still have double the hp, minimum, today.

And double the weight, with less torque.

0-60 of 4.8 secs. A Focus RS will run that now.

I had no idea it was so outdated, performance wise. I wouldn't care, just shocked

The past 20 years have seen hp levels go through the roof.
